Wow this is a great watch! It looks even better in person and is very functional. The stop watch and alarm are easy to use and as all Luminox watches it is very easy to read in dim to no light at all.

Lacks feel of quality, August 4, 2010

I bought this watch (the ivory colored version model 1847) within a month of buying a similar priced Tissot PRC200 chronograph (Tissot Men’s T17.1.516.32 T-Sport PRC200 Watch). The Luminox was a disappointment, especially compared to the Tissot. The Tissot looks and feels like a high quality watch, the Luminox like a little boys’ toy.

The Luminox main adjustment knob has very gritty threads. When the knob is pulled out to any of the adjustment positions, it feels loose like it is about to break or fall off. The chronograph buttons have poor feel of contact and are very loose in their sockets, not very confidence inspiring. This watch feels and looks so rough I wonder how long it will work.

On the positive side the Tritium works very well and the watch is readable in any lighting. This is the main reason I bought this watch.

The alarm is handy and quite quick to adjust, easier than I thought. The alarm volume is not too loud, I prefer it this way. The chronograph goes up to 12 hours. When you reset the chronograph, it takes a long time, up to 10-20 seconds, for the hour and minute hands to reach zero as it winds forward through all the twelve hours.

If this watch were selling for half the current price I would have thought it was right, but in its current price range it is out of its league. You can buy more solid watches for the price, but of course without the handy Tritium dials.

EDIT: Added one star. I have been wearing this watch for a month now. After the initial disappointment I have grown to like it.
