This is a short video of my new watch! The Bulova Precisionist Champlain 96B131. The Bulova Precisionist is the most accurate watch in the world with accuracy to within +/- 10 seconds per YEAR. The Precisionist is also the only quartz watch being made right now with a continuously sweeping second hand that beats 16 times per second!!!! SImilar to the old tuning fork Accutrons from back in the 60′s. The unprecedented accuracy of the Precisionist watch is due to them adding a third prong to the quartz crystal and increasing the total vibrations to eight times the frequency (262.144 kilohertz)of a standard quartz watch. Most quartz watches are accurate to 15 seconds a month. Bulova Precisionist is accurate to… 10 seconds… a YEAR. This is also the heaviest watch that i have ever picked up, doesn’t say much but trust me when i tell you that this thing could be used as a dumbell if need be. This is the Bulova Millennia 96C21 Perpetual Calendar Minute Repeater watch with 2 time zones. It’s a very high quality quartz movement which was originally made by Citizen back in the early 1990s. This movement is controlled by Citizens OEM department, not by Miyota (the Citizen-owned movement maker in Japan). 11/7/10 UPDATE; I made an error when I said this was a jeweled movement. Since I made this video, several members of the 96C21 User Group on Yahoo have verified that there are NO jewels (like most quartz movements) in this movement. I too, have physically verified this. It has an excellent quality movement with a normal floating gear train.
