@cobh8crew2009 Yes it is. Anything digitally sourced by nature has a better outcome that an analog moved picture. To move the image as analog, you are literally pushing the electricity down some copper wires and try to get the best… With Digital, any interference in the picture won’t cause as great a problem. It the TV can still see that for example in one frame there is 01010, it can still make up the full quality picture, even though there is interference there.

S-Video has been discontinued believe it or not. I looked at all the new TV’s before purchasing my current one and none of the boxes advertised S-Video. And sure enough, the TV I bought doesn’t have it.

doesnt make sense cause those wires arent digital but if you got s-video then the picture on your tv would be a bit better and yet agaion if you have composite or hdmi then even better.

no you couldnt watch a dvd on your ipod doesnt work that way but yes if you have the specail wires that let you hook up your ipod to the tv then you can watch your ipod on your tv set if you got some videos on your ipod.

He forgot to mention the SCART connection, which is the most complete of them all but I guess only the EU spec equipments have that connection.

I think the iPod would play on the TV. You would have to hook it up to a TV, not a DVD player.

So if you connect an iPod component cable to that, would the iPod play on the TV or the DVD play on the iPod (or neither)?

lol I have a 19in CRT and the only input is RF (or as some call it coax)

but shockingly the picture quality is fucking amazing. :3

I thought it would look ugly but I’ve been playing KH 2 on it and it has shocked the fawk out of me.

Yes, the most big difference is the colors and the shades. On DVD they are so much packed so darker greys become “crushed” so you can’t see the detail in shadows. On the blu-ray this is not an issue.

i can agree with you,i have a 42″ sony bravia and a blue ray player when i play normal dvds on it still looks a lot better than in a normal tv, in blue ray the colors looks a better and you can see more details but its not the big difference

  20. Comment by OjStudios — June 18, 2012 @ 7:24 am

It’s not the same. Upscaler cannot make up the missing pixels (480P to 1080P upscaling) on the blu-ray native res is 1080P and there is more detail. You can tell the difference easily when using big screen, like over 100″. In some movies you can tell the difference in 50″ too.

    u didnt go over hdmi

  23. Comment by HardcoreDude720 — June 18, 2012 @ 9:16 am

it looks exactly the same to me

  24. Comment by topsyandpip56 — June 18, 2012 @ 9:34 am

Nah, the DVD Picture through HDMI is only upscaled, it is not the higher resolution that Blu-Ray is. DVD also does not contain the higher fidelity, that Blu-Ray does. If you actually want HD on disc, don’t waste you money and get Blu-Ray. But yeah, if ya couldnt care less then go for dvd!

  25. Comment by HardcoreDude720 — June 18, 2012 @ 9:49 am

and the best part you get the same video quality without wasting your money on blue ray
